It's a hard knock life

Yeah, Campbell lives such a hard life.

Haven't updated lately because not much has been going on. Ok, well that's not true. But nothing PICTURE worthy has been going on. :) Kaelyn & Cooper spent last weekend with Kaelyn's birth grandparents. It was a nice weekend for everyone. Jeff and I even got to out on a date all by ourselves! Grandma & Papa watched Campbell for a few hours while Jeff and I enjoyed a dinner out and a little wandering around the mall. This week has pretty much been back to the old grind around here although the kids and I have done some fun baking today. Unfortunately, no pictures. Anyway, this weekend we're headed out for a vacation. Kaelyn & Cooper will be at the Grandparents for the weekend and Jeff, Campbell and I will be joining our home group friends up in the San Juans for a wonderful getaway weekend. We can't wait! Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures to post from the weekend when we get back. :)

Two Months Old

So, Campbell turned two months old yesterday. I didn't have any time to write about it yesterday, but I'm making time tonight! :)

So, here we are...two months. She is smiling all the time. I love how much she is noticing other people around her. Today we had a reunion with our birthing class (see picture below) and she was totally taking in the other babies. At one point her at one of the little boys were "talking" to each other. So cute. Sleeping is going quite well. She usually take a nice long morning nap in her bouncey seat. This works out perfectly during the week because we are able to get Kaelyn's schoolwork usually finished while she is napping. Campbell loves her bouncy seat - thank goodness! She is sleeping pretty well at night. Usually only getting up once (occasionally twice) between 10pm and 7:30am. I don't feel too sleep deprived! Some of her favorite things to do at this point are to watch Kaelyn and Cooper be wild and crazy (an all too familiar occurance around here) and to lay on her changing table and watch "the bugs". We have a little mobile above her changing table and she will lay there sometimes and just talk to them. Love it! She still loves to sleep during the day and besides her long morning nap she take several other small cat naps throughout the day. Sometimes I even sneak one in there with her in the afternoon. :) So, that's about it. Not much to write about at two months old. Her entire life is eating, sleeping and pooping!

Anyway, here are a few pictures of her exciting life. :)

Napping on daddy's lap. I love how she can fall asleep in any position. This can't be comfortable!
Hanging out with her friends Radik & Kawehi from our birthing class reunion.

Tee Hee

This picture just makes me laugh. She makes this face all the time and it cracks me up each and every time! Funny girl.

Winnie the Pooh

The other day Cooper somehow got in his mind that he wanted to put his hand in a honey pot "just like Pooh". Well, we didn't have a honey pot, but I thought it might be fun for him to feel how sticky the honey can get. So, we (well, not *we* - the kids) became Winnie the Pooh and ate honey just like Pooh would do!

One Month Old

Well, we've reached the one month mark. First of all, an update on Campbell's drs appointment this morning... the dr confirmed that she does in fact have a bad case of baby acne. She said it should go away in about a week or so and that although it looks bad, it will be fine. I asked about the reflux and/or gas issues and she said that she's pretty sure Campbell is just still adjusting to life outside the womb and her body is still figuring out digestion. I'm not convinced that there isn't a problem, but now I'm leaning more toward her having an allergy or a resistance to something I'm eating that is causing the digestion problems. I might cut out dairy for a couple months and see if that helps at all.
Anyway, on to the good stuff about being a month old. She now weighs 8lbs 14oz (up from 7lbs 8oz at 10 days old). The dr was happy with that weight gain and so am I. I'm pretty sure that Campbell is never going to be one of those chunky babies, which is fine with me. At least she'll fit in her clothes for longer than the average baby. LOL She's starting to settle into a pretty good napping and eating routine. That is, until we leave the house for any amount of time and through her whole routine off. What else there really to say about being one month old? She's starting to smile (although not really consistently), likes her time laying and kicking on the floor, and has some good awake time. And, of course, she is darn cute. :)

This is how she napped for about an hour yesterday. She had been asleep on me for an hour or so and I wanted to put her down so I could get something done. There was a laundry basket full of clothes sitting next to my chair so I made a little nest in them for her. She loved it!

Happy One Month, Campbell!
