Thanksgiving 2009

We have so much to be thankful for this year. This Thanksgiving we celebrated with a big dinner (I know - shocking, huh?) at my parents house. It's been awhile since we've been with my family for this holiday as we usually go to my inlaws. But we were expecting out of town family to come so we all planned to be at my parents house. Unfortunately, the family that was coming had last minute car issue and couldn't make it :( but we had a nice time celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday nonetheless. Kaelyn spent the night at my parents house on Wednesday night and helped my mom prepare and decorate for the occasion. Here are some pictures of the special table decorations.

The kids and grandma made turkeys from their hands and feet (a tradition we hope to carry on throughout the next several years)

And the kids just had fun playing together. Yeah, these boys don't like each other at ALL! :)

A date and a playdate

Kaelyn is spending the night tonight at Grandma's house. So, while she was away having fun, Cooper and I decided to have some fun together too. We had planned a playdate with Cooper's best friend, so we spent the morning over at their house. They played with some trains

and read some books...

After we were done with our playdate (which didn't last too terribly long since both boys spent most of the morning fighting), Cooper and I went out for a special treat. His very favorite place to go is "out for coffee", so we had a Starbucks date with each other.

I definately have the cutest little boy ever!

Tonight

VEGGIETALES HAS A WAY OF DOING THIS....

Tonight we had the pleasure of watching my two nephews while their mom and dad went out to dinner. It's SO fun to see these cute cousins get together and play. It's even more fun when they get along the WHOLE evening long! At the end of a fun night including dinner, running and playing with every single toy in the house, we cleaned up and put in a LarryBoy (VeggieTales) movie. Somehow it has a calming effect on three little boys and one big girl. :) At least for a few short moments.

An upcoming event!

As unbelieveable as it is, Cooper's 3rd birthday is quickly approaching. In fact, his party is only 3 weeks away! Can you guess what the theme will be this year?

Projects

The words "It's a Girl" are music to any seamstresses ears. There is just way more you can make for girls. I made a lot of stuff for Cooper, but this little girl is going to have so much more sewn for her! And I've already been busy at the sewing machine making lots of fun stuff. Here is what I've done or started.

I bought the material and pattern for this diaper bag back when my friend Heather was expecting her little girl, oh, say almost 4 years ago. LOL It's been sitting in my fabric bins since then need to be used. I finally got motivated and put together this great diaper bag. It's such a perfect size and came together so nicely! I'm excited to use it.

I wanted something super easy and quick to make once we found out that this baby was going to be a girl so I found this pattern I had stashed away for a baby bunting (is that what they are called??). My mom still thinks I should put a bow on the hat as it's "not girly enough" for her. We'll see...

I started this cute little shirt and pants combo. The shirt is like a little dress with gathers around the chest and long sleeves. It's made of a cute cotton knit. The pants are going to be this beautiful blue interlock wool (to double as a cloth diaper cover) that I bought for Cooper but never got around to using. I love how they go together. Just enough "girly" without being at all froofy. :)

Ok, so this project hasn't even been started, but I found this great wool sweater at the goodwill that I'm going to turn into a couple pairs of wool pants (again for to double as cloth diaper covers). I love the color and think it will go with so much stuff that we get as gifts.
So, there you go - there is the start of my "Made by Mom" collection. I'm sure there will be a LOT to come in the future. Especially with the stash of fabric I have accumulated from my diaper business. :) I've made a few purchases too and maybe I'll get around to posting some pictures of those things too. They are awfully cute and not your normal baby purchases. LOL

Halloween 2009

Well, I don't think these pictures need much explanation. I finally got my camera back and was able to download pictures. So, without further adieu - here is my Medieval princess and my crazy clown. :)

I'd love to post pictures of my kiddos all dressed up in their halloween garb. Boy, were they cute! But, unfortunately, I can't find my camera. :( I think I may have left it at our pastor's house when we went trick or treating on Saturday night, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, stay tuned for more fun pictures..... I hope.
