Winnie the Pooh

The other day Cooper somehow got in his mind that he wanted to put his hand in a honey pot "just like Pooh". Well, we didn't have a honey pot, but I thought it might be fun for him to feel how sticky the honey can get. So, we (well, not *we* - the kids) became Winnie the Pooh and ate honey just like Pooh would do!

One Month Old

Well, we've reached the one month mark. First of all, an update on Campbell's drs appointment this morning... the dr confirmed that she does in fact have a bad case of baby acne. She said it should go away in about a week or so and that although it looks bad, it will be fine. I asked about the reflux and/or gas issues and she said that she's pretty sure Campbell is just still adjusting to life outside the womb and her body is still figuring out digestion. I'm not convinced that there isn't a problem, but now I'm leaning more toward her having an allergy or a resistance to something I'm eating that is causing the digestion problems. I might cut out dairy for a couple months and see if that helps at all.

Anyway, on to the good stuff about being a month old. She now weighs 8lbs 14oz (up from 7lbs 8oz at 10 days old). The dr was happy with that weight gain and so am I. I'm pretty sure that Campbell is never going to be one of those chunky babies, which is fine with me. At least she'll fit in her clothes for longer than the average baby. LOL She's starting to settle into a pretty good napping and eating routine. That is, until we leave the house for any amount of time and through her whole routine off. What else there really to say about being one month old? She's starting to smile (although not really consistently), likes her time laying and kicking on the floor, and has some good awake time. And, of course, she is darn cute. :)

This is how she napped for about an hour yesterday. She had been asleep on me for an hour or so and I wanted to put her down so I could get something done. There was a laundry basket full of clothes sitting next to my chair so I made a little nest in them for her. She loved it!

Happy One Month, Campbell!

Those teen years

We're getting a preview in our house of the teen years. Ok, not really as I'm sure the attitude will hugely outweigh the acne issue, but well, you know. Anyway, Campbell has a horrible case of baby acne. At least that's what we think it is. We're going to the drs tomorrow to make sure that its only baby acne and not some sort of reaction to anything. It is horrible. This picture was taken last week about a day or so into the acne breakout.

This picture was taken this morning. You can see how much more red her face is. It has spread from just her face to her head, her neck and her whole torso. It's so sad looking. Unfortunately, if it is baby acne - unlike the teen years acne - we can't do anything about it. :-(Amidst the baby acne Campbell has given us some REAL smiles! I was so lucky to actually catch one on cambera last week. It's enough to make a moms heart melt completely. :)

Can it get any better?

I don't think life can get any better (ok, maybe a little more sleep would make it better...). But I'd say life is pertty darn good as it is!!!

2 weeks (well, almost)

I know technically Campbell won't be 2 weeks old until late tomorrow night, but I wanted to post this picture because I think it's darn cute. :) This was taken after her bath last night. She is trying hard to hold her head up already and is getting pretty successful!

Speaking of her bath, here are some pictures from her very first big girl bath. We thought she was going to hate it since she hates being naked, but she actually loved it! It was so fun to watch her just sit there and look at all of use surrounding her.


Yesterday we also went over to my brother and sister in laws house so that Campbell could meet her newest cousin (they were born 10 days apart). I can just picture them in about 3 years running around and playing together. :)
